We currently have 2 Elite 192 systems connected via a point to point T1 for inter-office intercom and call transfers. The T1 is muxed and we use 6 channels for voice and the remainder for data. We connect to the HQ's LAN and backhaul an internet connection from our main office over the data channels.

We are considering dropping the point to point T, and replacing it with a 10Mbps point to point fiber connection (our data needs will be pretty intense after we roll out a new line of business application). The new environment will be IP only.

Does anyone know if NEC (or anyone else) makes a card for the Elite 192 so that I can ride the point to point IP connection for intercom and call transfers?

Anyone know what I could expect to pay for it?

Thanks,
Dan

With software rev s8000 or higher, I think you can use an IAD(8) card configured for IP CCIS trunking.
I would contact your local NEC dealer for help w/ this. You might have to upgrade the CPU to an IPK CPU.(CPU only, keep all cards & cabinets) I would encourage that because then NEC would support the setup. Hope this helps.

Also have an EE192 here.

Looking to find (and ultimately change) the DID number assigned to each Station.
What is(are) the mode / submode(s) for this function? Cant seem to find it in the Program Manual (I have Issue 5).

Alternatively I can get our copy of SAT running and login, but I need to know
whether to use the DB25 port for the MIFM or the DB9 directly on the ETU in order
to communicate with the unit.
Either way - I get "Data Set Ready is off"

I seem to be at an impass.

Help is appreciated!

DID's are assigned in MB 1-1-22. There are other MB's that effect DID's but this is where the day/night dest is defined. Hope this helps.

It does, absolutely. I had looked there but the DID assignment is still troubling me.

For example, there is this assignment;
22:1234DY=T 500

Where can I find the full DID for 1234? Is it actually in the system or do I assume for all the DIDs we have it is the last 4 digits?

Also, the T vs TN is not something I understand as yet.

Thank You!

Follow up to original post:

I have obtained info from two vendors with different solutions. The first is based on DrPBX's post (upgrade CPUs and add VoIP trunking). That solution provides NEC hardware and would be supported by NEC and our vendor.

I also have a proposal for a third party solution from Blackbox. The Blackbox solution encapsulates the TDM signals over IP. The current NEC PBX thinks it's still hooked up to the T1. So essentially it's a TDMoIP solution -- emulating a T1 using IP. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of solution?

Specifically we're looking at a pair of Blackbox MT1050A MULTI-INPUT IP MUX-T's. (That's a mouthful). If anyone has some real world experience with a solution like this, please let me know.

The third party solution is about half the cost, and would be supported by Blackbox for three years and renewable support thereafter.

Thanks!

Adam, you are recieving 4 didgits from your local telco provider, you need to call them to get the DID ranges assigned to you.

BTW, you hi-jacked this thread. In the future, please start your own thread so we may be of more assistance!
