We have an Electra Professional Level 1 with a Promail VM. The Night Mode seems to be on a timer because each morning it is turned on. I am told that it used to be setup for the right times but now it is a problem because it does not turn off in the morning. I can get to the day and night mode on the VM, but none of my documentation has the code to access the Automated Attendant. Any help?

Some more information, I can get into the System Administrator menu and the voice promt gives me options 1-5. However, option 8 asks for a password and option 0 says, "one, pause, zero, eight." Does any of this have to do with the Auto Attend function?
I made some changes that might(?) help. I setup the open and closed business hours to always closed so that function never changes. The VM system is still forced to Day operation so that should not affect it and I fixed the time (it was 30 min fast).
Is the Auto Attendant something that can only be accessed from the operator mailbox because before this building was shut down (we are just now getting back in it) there was a receptionist who handled the night mode attendant. That extension works (and has the 16 button phone) but the mailbox has been dissabled, so I am using the setup mailbox, 0, to access the system.

To set the business hours schedule: 1. Enter the system administration menu.
2. Enter your system administration password.
3. To set the company business hour schedule, press 6.
4. To indicate the day of the week you are setting a schedule for, enter a number from 1 to 7. The system will play the hear current schedule for that day.
5. Enter four digits to specify the time your business opens for the day you just specified.
6. OR, To leave the time unchanged, press #. If you press #, the system will now proceed to setting end time.
7. OR, To force the system to be closed all day, press 9999.
8. OR, To force the system to be open all day, press 0000 for the Start time.
9. To specify a.m., press 1.
10. OR, To specify p.m., press 2.
11. Enter four digits to specify the time your business closes, End time.
12. OR, To leave the time unchanged, press #.
13. To specify a.m., press 1.
14. OR, To specify p.m., press 2.
15. Repeat steps 4 through 7 until all days are specified.
Forcing and Releasing Hours of Operation You can permanently override the scheduled operating mode by forcing or releasing the system from the current mode. This feature may be used for emergencies or extended closing such as long vacations or for every day, 24 hour operations. When the system is released, the normal business hour schedule will be used.
To force or release the System from off-hours operation: Enter the system administration menu. Enter your system administration password. To set the company business hour schedule press 6 To force the system into day or night mode press 8 To force the system into day mode, press 1 OR, To force the system into night mode, press 2 To release the system from forced mode and return it to the normal business schedule, press 3

Okay, I appreciate you taking the time for the reply. However, how do I set the time that the Automated Attendant for the Electra switches to night mode, because the open/closed hours schedule for the Promail does not seam to have any effect on this time. I have set the system to forced day mode and the hours of operation to 9999 (or always closed). I would think that the "forced" setting would have precidence over the "hours of operation."

I have an electra pro lvl 1. Attached is the ProMail on ext 50 and 51. If I enter the setup mailbox (0) and the system administration menu, I can access the day/night mode which forwards to voice mail on the first ring for night mode. My problem is if I disable the night mode by forcing day mode in the Promail the system still ends up in night mode each morning. It appears to me that the system has two timers for switching between day and night mode. If I disable the Promail the system still switches each evening. So, how do I access the Electra's Automated Attendant?

Pickup the phone and enter your mailbox. At the receive message prompt, dial 9 (it is not one of the menu options) It will then ask for the administrator password.
The system, assuming you have the electra pro lvl 1 will only pickup after the 1st ring in night mode and assumes someone is there to answer the phone in day mode. (I think)
That is a good point I wonder if there is a hardware switch on the system to turn off the AA.

well now I am thinking he is not talking about the day/night attendent
He just wants the phone's voicemail to pick up after the third ring during regular business hours
I think this is done throught the voicemail and not the day/night attendent
any help or suggestions?
