Hi,
I have an NEC Elite 192. The VM was damaged 2 days ago, well that's what my vendor said, I still see the Green light lit. When someone calls the VM does not pickup, nor does the main greeting play. The lines just keep ringing out. My vendor is charging me over 5k to fix.

Frankly I think this is a rip off. Where can I get the software to tap into this VM o check this drive. Maybe just the drive needs replace.

I am in the IT field and played with VIOP so I have a little idea what to do.

Any advise would be appreciated.

How many ports is it? I know the 8 port is pretty expensive. Have you tried rebooting the voicemail yet to see if it starts answering?

4 ports. I did reboot several times. Still nothing.

Well, if you lost your hard drive everything will have to be reprogrammed and re-recorded. It could also be the board went bad. You say the green light comes up which tells me it went through it's bootup process. How old is it, it seems like these things have a lifespan of about 4-7years.

It's 5 years old.

I can't seem to find any vendor in NY,NY. Only the current vendor who taking advantage of the siutation.

Silly question, your phone system did not accidently get put into night mode?

Check and see if there is a little square on the LCD displays next to the time display.

Also does the VM pick up when you dial it internally?
