Working on an NEC Professional. Did not originally supply it but have programmed it before successfully.

I want to change a feature access key on tels (ETW 16DD) from DSS to CO line (I have added a fourth line to the system). I have a manual but it has no information on programming any of the keys.

Anyone have a reference source for this information?

Thanks for your help,

JE

i'm guessing it's a level 2 or a 120? is the cabinet a big metal tan cabinet?

if so then program 4-12 is where you'd need to go to re-program buttons.

if it's a smallish white plastic cabinet let me know. that is a level 1. programming is different for it.

Man, that was a quick reply. I should have looked before I left the place. I am back on premise.

The cabinet is a smallish white box.

Sounds like the NEC Professional Level I. Check mem blocks 3-XX to add the line to the trunk group & set it for MF. It might be set to nil.

Also check mem block 2-XX for tenanting, that was one way to kill a line appearance for FA keys...

Don't forget to go to mem block 4-15 & 16 for day/night ring assignments.

I did all of the above actually, except checking "tenanting".

The key in the logical position for line four is a DSS key. How do I make it a CO line appearance?

Thanks for your attention on a holiday wekend.

Happy New Year to you!

ITAC JAMES, Does the system look like a pizza box on the wall or more of a cube. If it is a cube then it's an Elite 48; But programs same as Elite 192~IPK.

Program 4-12 is correct. Display should read:

"01/12:L01-C0 01"

AA/BB:CCC-DD EE Represents:

AA - Telephone Port No.
BB - Data No. ie program 12 (Key Assignment)
CCC - Line Key Number (01-24)
DD - Setting Data 1(Depends on Line Key Pressed)
EE - Setting Data 2 or lets say Trunk 04

Use Trf to Advance to next Memory Block Same Port
and to write data

Use Cnf to Advance to next Port same Memory Block; Data is not written

Hope this helps...

Thanks guys,

I have an Electra profesional (likely level one). Appears to be equipped for four CO lines and a power fail tel on the motherboard.

4-12 in my manual is "preferred line assignment".

I will investigate "LK2" settings next I'm on site.

This is a fire sation/administrative staff location. I have added three centrex lines as CO 1, 2, and 3 and arranged for the new CO4 to appear on a single line tel in the apparatus bay. Until I can make this line (the main station line inbound and formerly the main target for calls to these new Centrex users) appear on the system the only place it can be answered is on that single line ou tin the apparatus bay.

I sure do need to get the key programming instructions so I can change a DSS key to CO4!

program 3-10 is line type (nil, 10pps, 20pps, mf). nil=off
10/20pps=pulse
mf=dtmf

2-01 is the only option for tenanting. it is either off or on.

from what i remember........if the line is turned on in 3-10 it appears. if it is off then the button can be assigned for whatever.

I was finally able to confirm that line four is turned on in 3-10.

When FA key at the top right of FA keys (the logical position for line four) is pressed on extension 11 screen displays: error.

Surely there is a source of progrmming information for the telephone keys on this system!?

It's been years since I've worked on a level 1, I do remember fighting to find the answer to this one and if you've found it pleases post, it's bugging the hell out of me.

Meanwhile the manuals are available at the manuals line at the top of the page.
