I'm new to all these phone systems and I'm just overwhelmed by all these choices. Anyway, our company is moving and we are shopping for a new phone system. We currently have the NEC Pro II with 32 station capacity and the Octel Smooth Operator as our voice mail system.
We want to get a new system with 75-100 station capacity, upgradable to around 200 or more. What system would you all suggest? We have 12 lines right now, with 4 lines being on 1 number and the other 8 lines being on a different number (2 companies). We also need to have the 2 numbers separated in terms of having different greetings when callers call in when our receptionist is away.
Please help and thanks in advance!

My recommendation would to get in touch with some local dealers in your area providing different types of phones systems. Post your location and I am sure one of us or more can help. You will get someone from every type of phone system on here telling you to buy their favorite system. It is ultimately your call and what you like. My preference and recommendation would be migrating to a VoIP system, not for multilocation support but to allow network management and PC integration. You'll have some plugs for a Telrad, NEC, Avaya, Nortel, Panasonic, Comdial, etc. and I would review 3-4 of these systems and see what you like and don't like about the feature offering, phone looks and operation, ease of user programming and cost per new set and expansion modules since you know you'll be growing. Some of the best techs and dealers in the country are on this board. We're all here to help and sometimes offering that help is much easier in person. -dan

Thank you for your advice. I'm in the Fullerton, CA area right now and our company will be moving to Cypress, CA. Both of these areas are in Orange County.

There are several choices to consider. Since you are familiar with NEC, you could upgrade to a better NEC, Avaya, Nortel...
Just get the info from the guys here on the board.
