My voicemail extention shortcut key was constantly lit, like the VM was is use, and the voicemail system was not in service (no auto-attendant, etc). I rebooted my Elite 192 system, and everything is back to normal, but this sounds like it could be a failing hard drive. I was wondering if it was possible to image the hard drive, or if someone knows of a better way to backup my voicemail system. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

It is possable to backup the mail via the Cossession backup program. However if the mail is really old I would suggest that you replace the mail with a new one with a CF drive as it usually cost more to get the old one fixed. Not sure about Ghosting the old drive and then restoring to a new one..

Thanks for the response, Paul. I don't have CoSession. I presume it comes with the purchase of a new voicemail board, though, so that might be the best bet, but we probably wouldn't purchase a new voicemail board until the old one were to die, and I'd then lose all my settings/greetings. Anyone have experience with imaging the drive?

there is a "secret" serial number somewhere in the hard drive that may or may not get copied with ghost. i know it's not copied with the backup option.
even if you back it up and restore it on a new one, it might not be compatable. so you're best bet is to print out everything in the old one & rebuild from scratch on the new one (if you ever needed it).
