Please forgive me if I dont have this lingo down but I am trying to find some help on our aspire m system /w ACD and Aspire Mail.
is there a way to have a caller not here a "ring on transfer" but just hear the MOH source until the call is answered?
Along the same lines we have an ACD and I was wondering if when the ACD system transfers the call to the VM system to play an announcement there is no ring audibled to the caller.
Thanks!
Please call our facility to see.... 858-560-4212

24-02-2 will let you set either MOH on transfer or Ringback tone. This is a system wide option and effects all calls.
More than likely the Vmail is answering before there is any time for ring back tone.
Is the Vmail an Aspiremail or an IntraMail?
The Inmail is actually wrote into the O/S of the Aspire and is extremley fast.

Tip&Ring, thanks for the reply.
24-02-02 was set for "Hold Tone" on our system already. We are using Aspire Mail. Just to clairify when the problem is most prominant.
When in an ACD we have it go to an announcement every 120 seconds. before it play's the announcement to the caller they get about half a ring. It seems petty but when we did a survey more than 50% of the callers complained that it was false hop the call was being transfered to a real agent, and not the announcement mailbox.
Thanks again! Eric Sakariasen

The best way to do overflow announcements is to use the VRS unit.
Check with your dealer and have them give you a quote. By using the VRS, which can have up to 16 channels all going at once, than th Vmail as it will busy your Vmail ports during the overflow.

Thanks again, I have them looking into that. Nect problem... Im using the serial (rs232 null modem) interface to connect to the Aspire mail system. I can get a successful connection with a valid ip of 200.0.0.99 for the guest computer but the IP address does not route to the 200.0.0.1? If I connect using DUN then I get a good connection but only at 12.0 kbPs (Modem Hardware Compatability issue). The gateway I get is the Guest computer 200.0.0.99 (which I thought was strange as well) any ideas? Thanks again for the help.

I had the Installer Come out.. He was able to connect his laptop and get an IP for his machine of 200.0.0.98 and the server (Gateway) 200.0.0.2
and subsequently connect. I tried 3 diffrent machines, with diffrent OS's all with the identical result. Im uing the null modem cable and making a terminal connection but I HATE THE DOS ENVIROMENT!! Any suggestions would be great!

Check with your dealer, they may sell you the UltraMail admin program that is GUI based.
Using the RS-232 port is only for the DOS based command line programming.

If you want hold music while a caller is in ACD queue, and Aspire Mail is providing the queue messages, look at program 41-19-06.
