Hi. I just obtained a copy of CoSession 7.0. I am able to connect to my VMS (the screen with the status of the four voicemail ports in the upper left corner), but I don't know what to do from here. I press F2 to "Sign-In" but I have no idea what the login and password are. Is there a default login someone could email me? Is there anything else I should know regarding this software? Thanks in advance!

passwords are not handed out here but if you've been using that VMS for quite some time chances are the sign in and passwords are'nt at default.. What you should do is contact someone that can read through your back up files encryption and give you the actual login and passwords programmed..

Well, I figured out the username and password that were used to set up our system, and I made changes via CoSession. I then exited out and made a backup of my system in BRU, but now that the backup completed, I try connecting via CoSession, and I get the error "CA024 - A timeout has occurred. No Carrier". What do I need to do to get back in via CoSession?

Yes, the voicemail started up OK, but what if I need to go in and change settings? It seems as though there's a host application that runs and looks for a remote connection, and it's no longer running. When I exited the CoSession, the Dos prompt gave me around five selections to choose from. I chose "Backup/Restore" and it said something about shutting down and restarting in a different mode, and told me to connect with the BRU app. After I backed up, I tried connecting with CoSession again, and received the error posted above. I rebooted the Elite 192 and now I cannot connect with either CoSession or BRU. Any suggestions, please?

Unfortunatly the help screen in CoSession does not give much info on this error. It implies that the error refers to a modem dial up access and low carrier levels.. I suspect that CoSession in the mail may not be running. Maybe shut down the mail and power off, then do a power restart.

Maybe someonme else will have some other ideas..

is your voicemail working fine? normally with cosession you should just sign out.. do not exit just click hang up.. exiting to DOS would cause the VM to shut down even without toggling the "run/shutdown" switch.. normally you just have to shut it down wait a few mins til the LED's are steady then power back on and wait for the green/yellow LED to light up then try connecting again..

Well, I shut it down once again, but this time I waited longer before powering on, and left the serial cable removed until the LED went green, and I was able to connect. It looks as though if you try to force connection before CoSession starts running on the phone system, you will not be able to connect until you reboot the unit. I guess this may come in handy to a CoSession newbie somewhere down the line. Thanks for your replies, everyone!
