So then it would make sense to number 200-215 as your stock numbering system ,so you stay sequential and then dss units @ 301 ,on say port 16 per your example..

For your partner example it could go 210 and up

I'm sure your all thououghly confused about port 301 and extension 301 now.

The Above there are 2 screen caps, port numbers first and station numbers second

If you plug the DSS in port 16 you will still have an extension 301
but port 16 will become PORT 301

I have shuffled the number to start at 310 and go up from there and told customers there extension numbers are the same with 3s in front of them 2xx extensions get messy because they are the speed dials

We have a customer that has an NEC at one of there locations and the vendor he had for this has left him high and dry. This is not in our product line be we are trying to help him. Need remote support. Please call 704-651-6203 ASAP!

It is important to remember when re-numbering extension numbers not to duplicate with ring groups, lines, and so on.
