We are Nortel and a Avaya shop over here and we inherited a NEC 192 there Auto Attendant is going out we have rebooted it twice, this customer is down sizing and just wants the main receptionist phone to ring for right now, while he figures out what they are going to do, I just want to know how to program that phone to ring what do we need to do, any help would be greatly appreciated..

Best option:

Sub-contract a local NEC tech to make the changes and show you the basics of programming the system.

Best $100 you'll spend this week.

The Vmail units with the IBM laptop drives usually fail after 5-7 years.

The programming steps for what you're trying to do are not difficult, but the ringing assignments for trunks can be done in several different programs and would be awkward to walk through in a post/reply situation.


If you can get your hands on a manual, look at programs 4-01, 4-02, 3-42 and 3-43.

Thanks for your suggestion I have tried several NEC Dealers and can't get them to return my calls, I guess that is what is upsetting about this whole thing, I will purchase a manual ..Thanks
