We have an NEC NEAX 2000 IPS with 4 locations. At each location, we have at least an IP phone installed. We have two remote sites where there are more than 1 IP phone, and we are getting a succession of 4-5 beeps every 5-15 seconds when the phone is off hook. The main site and another remote location have only one IP phone and they do not have this issue.
At times, the IP phone at the problem remote site has one way connections with the other caller. We cannot pinpoint the issue at the remote sites. In both cases we are using an HP Procurve POE switch. The other IP phones at 2 sites do not have issues and they use the AC adapters.
We are thinking it is a port or network issue at the gateway level. I had our NEC tech look at the ports and he did not see any issues yet.
Any suggestions on what is causing the beeps?
Thanks

The beeps are caused by bandwidth issues. If you are hearing them you have network issues. They can be disabled in your IP phone if they are the latest revision.
