I just installed a used ESI card in my Electra Elite 192 system, as we are expanding, and I wired up one terminal to the first port on it, and everything was fine, until the next day. Now, every morning when I arrive at work, I test it, and the results are always the same:

1. Call from my extension to the new one: display reads "ERROR", and busy signal sounds.
2. Go to the new extension, call my extension: call goes through fine.
3. Come back to my extension, call the new extension: display reads "ERROR", and busy signal sounds once again.
4. From my phone, enter Programming Mode, MB 4, enter the new extension's port#, and just hit "Transfer" to save through it's settings (without changing anything).
5. Exit Programming Mode, call new extension, everything works fine again... until tomorrow morning.

It seems as though something is changing between night and day mode, but the strangest part is that I do not need to change any settings, I just hit "Transfer" to save through it's settings and the extension works normally. Another strange thing is even when I get an error calling the problem extension, the problem extension can still call all other extensions just fine. I am at a loss. If anyone could give me clues as to what could cause this to happen, I would be very thankful.

Sounds like there are 2 extensions with the same number.

Check memory block 4-10 on all ports for a station number duplication.

When you have a duplication, the station port last used will "cancel" out the other one. You could get a "back & forth" scenario where one station number will work, then the other one.

Exactly right, Scott. I will I can't believe I missed that. I removed the extra extension and waited overnight to post this, and everything seems fine now. Sorry to bother you with such a dumb problem, but I really appreciate the help!!
