Mike Sandman sells a line limitier, clamps the line current to no more than 35mA. A hot line will cause the DTMF problem.

Thanks Pots.
I saw that yesterday but it limits at 25ma (which is more to my liking). I'm also getting my hands on a Dynatel 965 DSP so I can show the local telco techs what is going on and how they might be hosing local business systems with hot lines.
