I will examine the manual this weekend, but I thought a quick post...
When installing a DSX with PRI and DID, there is a main published number that will be ported to the PRI. How do I specify the termination of calls to this number. DIDs are obviously translated and sent to an extension. But if I want the main number to act like loop start hunts and do a Key Ring, how is that done? Do I just set the first 23 lines to be key ring, or send the published main # to 300?
Thanks!

Thanks for the reply!
I also read in the manual that if the telco sends digits that do not have a translation entry, they act the same as loop start key ring, so that is also an option. The customer wants 300 to IMM ring, a few extensions to delay ring, and never have a call go to AA during business hours.

The last PRI I did, I got Verison on the phone and we walked through the programming together while I had them on the phone. The only problem I've ever had with a PRI install has been with the telco's ANI/DNIS receive formats. Good Luck!

Note: The last time I did a PRI, NEC tech support told me that the ONLY signaling they support is National 2.
Other than program the DIDs, all I remember having to do was to program the PRI channels to the appropriate lines and set the line termination to the lines (24 of them).
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the responses everybody! I am waiting for the PRI to be installed on the 16th, and some questions came up during my training with the customer, that I couldn't answer. As this is a PRI, can I have the extensions' DID #s overlay on outbound calls for CID?
If I don't use line appearances, and a call is placed on hold by reception, how does the person who is paged get that call? (I was going to use PARK orbits, but I just want to tell them what to do if this happens accidentally).
Can I take a DID #, and have it ring in to selected phones or a selected button on all phones for a separate company?
Thanks for any input!

Do you have to have a PRI to use DID, or is there a work around?

I'm far from an expert on this deal; but, I had to get the PRI/T1 provider on the phone to assure their programming matched the KSU's. We had POTS lines also so we programmed lines 1 thru 5 as POTS lines and started the T1 channels at Line 10 thru 33. In prgm 3101 we designated lines as DID Wink Start. And in prgm 3121 ANI/DNIS Format we selected *ANI*DNIS* as instructed by the provided. Our POTS lines were group 1 and T1 group 2 in pgrm 3122. Make sure you have a * as your delimiter in 3121. Program 3302 is where you designate your DID/Station translations. The T1 installs that I have done, I've had to correlate the ANI/DNIS digits with the translation tables in program 3302. One of the areas that caused us grief was pgrm 1213; T1/PRI Slot configuration. The Verizon Tech I dealt with left out the significance of Zero Suppression option for Clocking. The DSX Programming Manual is priceless. Kudos to the NEC gurus on this manual. This is probably clear as mud, just thought I'd share my limited experience. I doubt I'll ever be able to give back as much as I've learned on this site.
