I received a call today from a potential customer that currently has the NEC IPK system (PRI, approx 65 phones). His boss wants to switch out the entire system for something that will do voice mail-to-email integration, and desk top faxing.

It's been a very long time since I messed with vm to email integration on an Elite. I am looking for advice on the current Elite Mail product to accomplish this. Additionally, his desire to do "Desk top faxing" somewhat perplexes me as to how that is accomplished with a voice mail. Wouldn't that be more of an issue for his IT guy and an application through his server? I'm not computer guy... so I'm not sure about this one.

His request seems fairly simple. I just don't understand why he thinks he needs to switch out the entire system just for the integration.... (unless his current vendor told him that's what he has to do........ just so they can get a nice sale????)

Any suggestions? Which Elite Mail am I looking for?

Elitemail LX UM for a new one. Only comes with 5 licences, additional have to be purchased.

You could always try to find a used CTI (os2).

Thanks for the reply. I am visiting the customer today to inventory his system for number of stations, and existing voicemail ports. I will let you know.

I finally got out to this customer today. He has an Elite IPK with a VMP-X 8-port voice mail with harddrive. He wants to upgrade to be able to have his voice messages go to his email. They want to be able to associate and save messages with specific client files.

His system is equipped for 70 stations, of which approximately 65 in use. He thinks maybe no more than 40 to 48 stations would use the email feature.

Is the VMP-X upgradable via license activation to provide the vmail-to-email integration? If not, and a complete replacement is involved, what types of packages are available for the email licensing..... groups of 5, 8, etc?

No upgrade, complete replace.

You can buy the unified messaging licences 1 by 1, so however many you need.. 43 then buy 43 licences.

The IPK software needs to be 4.5 or higher for the Elite LX
