My Electra Elite 192 VMS-4 hard drive crashed recently. I obtained a new (used) HDD and replaced it. After initializing and configuring the system (from scratch - I had no record of the old settings - I'm sure I set something up differently), I notice that there is now approximately a three-second delay and a beep when answering a call that has been transferred (this did not occur with the old HDD - the call would be present as soon as the line was answered). We also use a "zero-out" function from the auto-attendant that rings at all extensions (SIE), and there is also a delay when answering a zero-out call. Does anyone know what I may have set up differently to cause this delay? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like you are doing a supervised transfer. Have you gote the default of "Await Answer" set to 5 still. It's normall set off in the tranfer options but it may be easier just to set await answer to zero on all mailboxes if thats the problem..

Paul is right. You set your Transfer Option in MBs as a "Await for Answer". It should be set up for Ring I belive.

Thanks for the input, paulw and vad60! You were correct. I first had to remove all Call Transfer Options (by hitting Ctrl-E at each subscriber's page) - by default, the system sets an "A" Call Transfer Code. After that code was removed, I was able to change it from "Await-->Ans" to "Release". All seems to be back to normal on that end, now.

Thanks again!
