I have a system that will not let you access the programming mode via the phones. When you hit ICM #* it immediately starts sounding out. It appears that hitting ICM is not doing anything, then when you hit # it is looking for a feature code, and since * is not an allowable feature code the system sounds reorder.
I have verified that no phones are currently accessing programming mode. I have also reloaded the system software.
Any ideas?

Are you trying to program from extension 300?

you can't be logged in both with a phone and with a terminal (took me a couple of minutes to figure that out the other day ) otherwise be sure the phone has programming access I usual deny it to all but a couple of mangers like Brian mentioned usually 300 has it by default

I specifically logged out on the terminal before trying it.
I'm thinking of swapping out the CPU card with a known good one and seeing if that helps.

You say that it appears as if the ICM key is doing nothing. Does this means you don't hear dialtone after pressing it? How are you able to make Intercom calls in this case?

Doesn't sound like it was a hardware problem. The database was probably corrupted and a clean copy was loaded in the process of replacing the CPU card. It would be interesting to know if the old CPU card still works.

I had already reloaded the system software and reloaded the database afterwards on the old card, so I really do thing it could be hardware related.
I'm going to the the card a try in a different system and see what happens there.
