If this was a Vodavi system, I would be long gone by now. Where do you find instructions on resetting a password for a mailbox user?

Gosh, Mark. There are dozens of NEC systems out there. Any chance we can get more information about the system being used? I'm sure that we'll be able to help you with an answer after we have that information.

I know that in the DSX, you have to be in the administrator mailbox, and there is a menu for subscribers (one of the choices of which is to reset the security code).

I don't know if the IPK works the same way, but that may be the direction you should look.

Yes, you need to log into the administrators mailbox. Posting this info in a public forum is not advised.

Resetting the password on individual mailboxes is simple and usually is done by the system administrator (typically station 100). If the system administrator still has her "Elite Mail Aminin. Handbook" the instructions are there.

From station 100, access voice mail. Look at the display for "MGR". If you don't see it, press "MORE".... then "MGR" should appear on the 2nd softkey from left. Press "CHKBX" softkey. enter the box number. The system will prompt you to "Would you like to delete the password?". Press 1 for yes. Then, the system prompts you, "Would you like to reset the mailbox to new?". Press 2 for NO. I generally tell my customers not to reset mailboxes to NEW because we don't know if there are Transaction Boxes associated with the subscriber box. If you reset the subscriber box to new, it deletes the associated Transaction box.

On later versions of Elite Mail, when deleting the password, it resets the password to the factory default.

If station 100 is not the system administrator, you may have to go around to all phones in the office following the above steps to locate the phone with the "MGR" softkey.

The instructions you gave me worked great, thanks. I posted a new thread yesterday because initially I couldn't find this one, so disregard any other threads of this nature.
