Can anyone tell me the update procedure to upgrade an Elite 192 from Revision 5.0 to 7.0? Do I have to rekey the whole Database or can I use the Upgrade procedures in the IPK Sat Technicians Guide for upgrading from 7.0 and below to 8.0? Just save the file as 7.0 instead of 8.0.

Use SAT to download your database. select less than 7000 when logging in.

Pull the battery strap on the CPU and replace the chipset, following the instructions on which dip switches to change etc...

Confirm on display set [Feature + 3] that your upgrade took.

Once done, setup your MIFM card again (database will be default) in CMD 7-1, 7-3 and 1-8-35.

connect with SAT again choosing greater than 7000 and find your database *change search option to ALL FILE TYPES* (old files are type .ofd and the converted file will be .rfd)and attempt to upload it, SAT will recognize it is not the right version and ask if you want to convert it. Once done choose "hardware upload" and wait for it to load.

Once done, reset the CPU card and check your database.

Usually the only things missing are call forward info and mic keys on all phones are off [Feature + 1].

If you are going to go through the trouble to upgrade the system, why not take it up to 9700?

I guess that there is no reason not to. I just told my supplier that I needed to be able to have control of my outgoing caller ID and this is what he came back with. Thanks.
