Anyone heard of DTH series phones having the displays fade out when they are connected to a 192 system as opposed to an IPK or IPK 2?

I have not seen this issue, myself. Let's make sure it's not just the customer accidently adjusting the LCD contrast.

No its not that. Apparently they fade out after being connected for awhile but the DTU phones on the same extension ports have no trouble. Happens on several DTH 16 and 32D's
