Hi,
Have a newly deployed SV8100 with 1 PRI, 16 DT730 IP terminals, UM8000 voice mail, on a dedicated LAN with an ADTRAN POE switch/router that provides DHCP.
Software is 2.00, UM8000 is up to date also.
Most of the time everything works as expected.
However, I get reports from random people using this phone system that they will be talking to someone and all of a sudden they can't hear the person on the far end. So they hang up. When they get a call back, the outside party always says that they could hear fine, so why did you hang up on me.
Until getting this resolved, I figured out a workaround which they now use. If it sounds like the far end has dropped off, don't hang up, but put the line on hold and take it back off hold. Tada! Now the audio is back in both directions.
We have tried reducing to a lower quality codec for the IP phones, but the issue has not gone away.
Any suggestions as to why the inbound audio sometimes gets lost?
