Greetings . . .
I have an Elite 192 system with a DTI card and full T-1. Customer wants Caller ID on inbound calls (which are answered by auto attendant (VMS)).
I advised getting PRI service, but Tel Co told customer Caller ID would work on the T1, set up as Feature Group D. I have heard of this before but have no idea how to make it work??
I believe the Elite 192 software level is V4.01.
Please help! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I have never tried to get ANI (it is not really caller ID) off of a T1 connected to an Elite 192. The NEC 2000 supports feature group D, I'm not to sure the 192 will.

Feature Group D will only get you CID number. For Name & number you need to go PRI. It is recommended to get that Elite 192 upgraded to 9500 software(IPK level).
You will need a DTI U-20 to support Feature Group D with incoming MF & outgoing DTMF signalling. CPU must be at 4500 or higher.

Thank you so much for the quick replies.
Have you heard of any nightmares taking a 192 from 4000 series all the way up to 9500?
Is this just a chip upgrade, or will they need a new CPU card?
Again, thanks for your help.

Oh! And is there anything special on passing the CID through the Voice Mail system since they are using Auto Attendant?
Thanks

I have upgraded several 192 and 48 systems to 9500 from lower versions than 4000.
You will need to use SAT software to back up your database, convert the database and then do a hardware upload.
Yes it is a chip upgrade, but the chip loads the firmware to the cpu then is removed.

Thanks again for the feedback . . .
I upgraded the system to 9700 series software. (It went well, whew!) However, still not receiving Inbound Caller ID Number on DTI.
(sidenote: I'm assuming with the upgraded software, I no longer need to worry about MB 1-1-78?) Otherwise, I've got MB 1-8-08, pg.4, LK 3 & 4 lit and pg.5, LK 7 lit.
I just worked with tel co over the phone and he says he tried both sending ANI, then DNIS and sending DNIS, then ANI. He's also tried both sending with * delimeter and # delimeters. In all cases the call was rejected.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I guess I should also mention this T-1 is set up in my system as DID, where tel co is sending 4 digits . . .

OK, here we go...
Per the S8000 Feats & Specs Manual
1-11-07 = ANI 1-11-08 = Delete Digits 1-08-08 = Page 4, Line Key 3 4-41 = CID to CAR key 3-44 = One Multiline Terminal per CAR key
Let's try this.
