I have both my servers setup and working. Redundancy Monitor setup and online. When the main server goes offline, the backup server prompts to take over (the main server cannot be found on the network, would you like this server to take over as the primary yes/no)
When I do so, all the applications open and come online but the PABX module will not connect to the PBX (IPS2000). the alert messages say that the American library was found but no dongle is installed.
Do I need to have a dongle on the primary AND the backup server??
I was told I could move the dongle from the primary to the backup when it takes over, but this is an unacceptable solution in a 24/7 callcenter that takes 911 calls.
This is not how the product was proposed to me or how it was proposed to work.
Anyone offer any insight?

Ok, just got the official word from Zeacom that EACH server has to have a dongle.
Would have been nice if it was sold this way on Masterquote!

I called about this today and found the same thing you did. I think it will be an option to purchase a second doggle when you order it or you can swap out your existing dongle to the backup server when it goes down, which makes no sense. I still have to say that this UCB is best product on the market in my opinion even with the little NEC oversight issues.

anyone know how to configure AUTOMATIC switchover to the redundant server with a level 4 redundancy?
I cannot figure it out for the life of me.

You do in fact need the second dongle- we got burnt on that one too. The switchover will happen autogically. Basically when the backup sees that the primary is no longer available it will prompt via popup locally to promote. If there is no acceptance of this it will do it on its own. The issue that we have is that the softports will only come online about 25% of the time at best. We have found that that typically you can bet on a couple reboots at least to get the softports up. As far as the best product on the market...that is a stretch for sure.

I FINALLY have my redundancy working correctly doing our final testing next week.
I was getting the prompt to promote the redundant server to be the primary, but didnt realize it would automatically take over if you did't click 'yes'.
Thanks for all the help.
