I have a customer with an Aspire.... about 35 phones, secretary has DSS console. She wants to have two rows of buttons on her DSS to be programmed with 1-touch speed dials so she can transfer callers out to cell phones.
I know in programming, I can set up these buttons as DSS buttons (01) where I can then program in the cell number preceeded with a 9. However, every time one of these people leaves the business or they add a new person (it's a real estate office), I will have to go back and and reprogram the button with a new cell number.
Isn't there a better way.... more user friendly where the receptionist could change the cell phone number on a DSS console herself.
I was looking at "Abbreviated Dialing" but that just confused the heck out of me. I cannot figure out how to relate the DSS button, the storage code (BIN number?) and cell number so she could change the numbers herself. I am just so confused!!
Is there not a better way?

Program your first two rows of keys like this:
Button 1-Function no. 01-Additional Data #2001
Button 2-Function no. 01-Additional Data #2002
Button 3-Function no. 01-Additional Data #2003
and so on...
Then she can log into WebPro, click on Speed Dials and change speed dial number 0001 to reprogram DSS button 1, or change speed dial number 0002 to reprogram DSS button 2, etc.
She can also manually program speed dials thru the phone but it's much easier using WebPro.

If I set up the buttons as you suggest, then can she simply dial service code 853 and change the numbers through her dial pad? (Their IT guy refuses to allow anyone access through his gear).
Also, how does the "Additional Data" 2001 relate to speed dial # 0001?

Yeah to make it a little easier program a 01 - 853 button on her phone and label it "program speed dial" and she can enter them manually that way. Additional data should be entered as #(pound)2001. #(pound)2 is just the Aspire service code for common speed dials and 001 is the speed dial the system will use. Common speed dials are always 3 digit numbers even though they look like 4 digit numbers in WebPro.
