I have an NEC Elite with an FMS-2 voicemail in my office. The login password has been changed on the FMS-2. I have tried all the NEC passwords I know and can't get logged in. I have placed switch 4 in the ON position and rebooted so I can get in and default the system. I can't seem to connect with switch 4 in the ON position. If I place switch 4 to the OFF position and reboot, I'm back in with coSession. Any ideas?

For Remote Maint. I think you have to Boot with Dip switchs 1&2 on. Then Connect with Cosessions.

You do not need the switch for in the on position. If you are trying to deafult the vm you need to connect with cosession and once in hit escape and it will ask you if you want to shutdown. But the problem is you will need the password to escape out.

As stated above, I need to hit ESC to shutdown along with the password that I do not have. I'm pretty sure there's a way to get the system to boot to a DOS prompt. I just can't locate it in my manuals.

I have some penciled notes where in the past I set switches 2 and 4 to "on"... then rebooted the VM. What I don't remember is if I was at the DOS menu and rebooted from there. My notes show in DOS I selected 4 to archive files, 2 for system files, then 4 = default data, then X to return to dos.

2 & 4 to ON was the proper way! Once there it's 4 for archive/de-archive and 4 again to de-archive to default database. Thanks for the help everyone.
