I have an Aspire S that currently has no VoiP phones. I want to add a VoIP phone in a remote location. My question is, since I only need one phone added, can I use a NEC Aspire-S Ethernet Card for VoiP Communications and Web Programming,Part # 0891053,which has one ethernet port, or do I need a special card for this?

Nope, you have to have the ethernet card for programming and a VOIP media gateway card and a VPN for it to work.

Thanks for the info Coral Tech. The only gateway cards I have seen for the Aspire S are four port for about 750. That plus the phone, etc, seems like a lot to spend to add one phone to an existing system.

the 4 port gateway card is the only way you can do it... you could probably find them on ebay cheaper but you have no idea what shape the card is in...
