is there a way to add remote presence to an analog system? my company has a nortel system (i'm not sure of the model) and wants to be able to know if a remote worker is on the phone and the ability to forward calls to her if she is not on the phone.
i don't think there is a way to do this without voip but i don't really know much about analog systems and how they can be extended with voip. i told them that we kind of get the remote user's presence thru instant messenger but they want it integrated into the existing phone system.
can anyone enlighten me on how this can be done?

There are always options. It'd be really nice if you could tell us exactly what your KSU model & software is, as well as what types of phones & lines are being used.
This should have been in the Nortel forum.
