I recently upgraded my dsx-80 to the new 3.0 firmware and now my system is not recognizing my 8 SLIU analog card. Both of the LED's stay lit up constantly. I really need this fixed because I have no fax and I have other devices on this card that are now nonfunctional. Has anyone run in to this. Thanks for the help!

Check 1201 program for station card assignment. If it is "unassigned" or shows something different than SLIU (Data 3 for 4port SLIU, Data 4 for 8port SLIU)... unseat the card, then delete it. After clearing the slot assignment, reseat the card.
Also check 1211 program for the same slot to ensure it isn't assigned as a trunk card.
If the card doesn't identify, try repeating the first step, but power down the system before reseating the card. Reseat it while the system is powered off, then power up.

When you say to delete it do you mean switch it to unassigned?

I tried your suggestions and I still have constant green and yellow LED's. I even tried the card in a different bay and the same thing happened. should I try to reinstall the 3.0 firmware?

Try downloading the current version 3.05 from the NEC website. There were some conversion issues in the earlier versions.

Jonathan,
Did you check the RUN/STOP switch on the 8SLIU card, located just below the LEDs ? Sometimes the switch gets bumped accidentally when a card is removed or installed. Also, if you install a card into the DSX chassis while the DSX System Administrator is connected to the DSX, that card will not become active until the System Administrator session is disconnected.

Thanks DSXguy and eriway! I did check the switch and it is in the correct position. I have also disconnected the SA and still no go. Do I need to do a full system initialization and redo my numbering plan? I would rather not do that but if it would fix the problem I will do it. Thanks again

If both LED's stay on steady, it usually indicates that the card has failed.

I was afraid of that.....Does it make sense that doing a firmware upgrade would cause the card to fail?
