One more thing ... can a user dial in via the phone and manually switch to night mode? I would imagine there is a code to access features just like accessing voice mail...

No you cannot call in and switch in or out of night mode.
The system gives the options of turning night mode on and of manually, automatically or both.
We get old too soon, smart too late
