The programming for IntraMail seems quite extensive. Does anyone know of a way to make it perform a simple answering machine function for a small office. Example: Without using DIL's have IntraMail play a message, then record a caller's message when the phone goes unanswered. I don't want to use DIL's because when the phone is ringing I want any of the extensions to be able to simply pick it up.
Thanks in advance to one of you programming gurus out there.

It's not extensive.... rather quite easy.

In 3112-02 overflow to VM = Yes
In 3112-03 = 700 (VM Pilot)

Record your greeting in box 801

In 4231-13 (Dial table 1, Time-Out function, enter 4 to change the option from UTRF to REC2, press HOLD, enter 300.

Now when the caller hears the greeting you recorded in 801 and stays on the line to leave a message, they will also hear "recording...." where they will leave a message in station 300's voice mail.

Thanks for your response eriway, but those programming steps don't appear to be for the Aspire S, unless I am missing something.

Please explain what you are trying to do and how the system is setup. The phones by themselves have answering machine emulation.

Thanks CoralTech. The system is set up with 2 trunk lines, 4 extensions. All trunks ring at all phones. Any phone can pick up any incoming call ( no dil's) except in night mode when line 2 goes dil to a virtual extension which call forwards off premise. What I am trying to do is get the IntraMail voice mail to answer the incoming call on line 1 if it's not answered. Then act like an answering machine by playing a greeting and taking a message.

oops, sorry that programming was for DSX.

For Aspire: in 22-08-01 = 102 (VM) this is delay ring per trunk, and mode 1 to go to vm when not answered.
Then in dial table programming 47-13-13, change the time-out function from UTRF (data 2) to data 4 = REC2.
Record your greeting via box 301, press 72 for Sys Admin, press "I" for instruction menu, enter box 001 to record. In the recording state "...stay on the line to leave a message".
