I am looking to have a remote PSTN line connect to a Nec SP8100 via the linksys SPA312 ,

Has anyone done this before?
are you able to provide some information,
I have Access to NEC tech's but they shy away from anything with a cisco logo on it... lol..

so more interested in how the linksys device is set up,
i.e does it connect using a SIP trunk or can it be used as a SIP extension .

Try following threads for SPA3120 using 2 of these to hop on hop off, such as with PBX analog stations. I found some set-up info that way.

Hello. I have successfully setup SPA3102 on the SV8100 as a SIP 3rd Party Extension. Calling works both ways. Calling the system, and the system calling the extension. My use for this is a remote fax machine on the company WAN or LAN. Next step is to test creating a SIP Trunk for PSTN to SIP Trunk. Please let me know if you are interested in the configuration parameters for the SV8100 and the SPA3102.
