Greetings,

I have a 2000IPS that is connected to a Right Fax server via analog ports. The fax server has an 8-port analog board and is connected to 8 analog ports on the PBX.

There are 4 DIDs routing to the fax server (non-converted) and the other 4 ports are hunt extensions.

As of right now only one DID is in the hunt group with the 4 hunt lines (so, 5-line hunt group). The other three DIDs are just "dedicated" lines. They are currently using "channel based routing" on the fax server.

What the customer want to have happen is to put all lines in a single hunt group (4 DIDs + 4 hunt lines), and have the server put the faxes in separate folder depending on the DID the call came in on.

The fax server vendor advised they would need to change from "channel based routing" to "DTMF routing" and the PBX will need to send the corresponding 4-digit DID info to the server, regardless of which port/extension the call hits.

Is this possible? Do I set these analog extensions as VMS w/ DTMF? Can this be done with analog ports?

Thanks, as always

Exactly

Setup those analog ports as a second voicemail pilot hunt group.

Build a virtual ext in 11 for each fax DID and steer the DID digits to it in 7600/7601/7602 then cfd all calls that virtual to fax hunt pilot.

Should be that easy.

Thanks D.

So, just to make sure I got this right.

Set up the 8 analog extensions (2901 thru 2908) in a voice mail hunt group, with 2901 being the pilot. (or does the pilot have to be an unequipped extension/virtual?)

Then create a virutal for each DID of the 4 fax numbers, and program CM76 as follows:

DID -> Virtual
1801 -> 4801
1802 -> 4802
1803 -> 4803
1804 -> 4804

And then, CFA 4801, 4802, 4803, 4804, all to go to 2901?

And this will push the DID digits through?

yup

set your pilot as unequipped analog.

do the usual vm programs for your ports like 13xx 17xx etc...

to test before you do your 76xx to re-route the did's, call one of the virtual ext's from a phone internally and answer it on the analog port with your buttset, you should hear the digits pulsed out when you answer.

Almost forgot...

In the fax server, each user's "fax mailbox" will need to match the virtual extension number.

Thanks so much for your responses

Ok, you had me until this last post.

So, the digits pulsed out will be the virtual extension?

(for example):
When a call comes in on DID 1801, routes to virtual 4801, and then hits the hunt group, say on port 2901, what digits will be sent to the fax server? 4801? I think that's ok, as long as it always sends 4801, regardless of which port it hits in the hunt group.
