no, no reason?? been back to site to upgade to v4.0, still same issue. interesting thing is though the remote system seems to connect to the main site, you can see this in system config, but when i connect to the remote system having the problem i get an error message come up and tell me it requires the 256 port license, even though the main site definently has that license. so it seems the cards wont fire up due to a lack of system ports. nec have the relevent info and will check it out

well after many weeks of testing, reprogramming, card swapping etc........ ive come to the conclusion that it is a low bandwidth problem. where the problem site is i have the max bandwidth that i can get in the small country town. so now the 3 system set up is 2 systems on netlink and the problem system connects to those via kccis, problem resolved!

update: the issue above is working fine using kccis, but i heard along the grapevine, the issue i was having with netlink could of been that i was using a combo card in the remote se8100. i heard that maybe if i changed the combo card to dedicated cards the issue may have been fixed. one for next time!

Combo cards should work fine on Netlink remotes. Netlink though is in my opinion way too fussy on network quality.. Something like 1% packet loss will cause failover.. As you have found out that they work fine with CCIS
