does anyone have any info on 2-ways i.e. sound quality battery life etc. I dont want to spend over $100 for a pair and they will be mostly used in one bldg. maybe 2 floors.

I have a set of Cobra radios, I use for the same basic situation. They work well but I have never pushed them past 3 floors and do not think I would want to.
I Swear I did not touch anything

Try motorola MR355R FRS radios. No license needed.
