We have a NEC Pro II with a problem using intercom voice. This application has several departments callers select from using VRS AA. As a result we have changed the default extension numbers for stations 100, 101 and 102 to 190, 191 and 192 respectively. We then set up CAR keys with 100 to ring 190, 101 to ring 191 and 102 to ring 192. This way when a caller dials 2 for department A the system directs the call to 190 and the other phones in that department have secondary intercom buttons ring with 190. If a caller dials 100 the CAR will allow only ext 190 to ring and not the entire department. All this works fine.

Here comes the problem. The customer wants voice intercom not ringing intercom. I changed this in programming and it works great for all phones except the 3 mentioned above. Intercom calls will only ring on these phones.

The question. Is there a way to allow voice intercom when dialing 100, 101 and 102?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thank you for the reply. That's what I was afraid of.

Is there a better way to set this up that will allow them to voice call?

We need to have multiple phones ring when a single digit selection is made in the auto attendant plus allow all stations to be dialed individually.

I guess I'm confused. You want to voice call all 3 phones simultaneously from the auto att?

I'm sorry for the confusion.

No, I want to be able to voice intercom (internal).

The problem is that I have phones that are "master extensions" for each department and are programmed with 2 extension numbers to allow calls to ring that phone by dialing a single digit and they can also be called directly. The true extensions of these phones are no longer 100, 109, 113 and 115. The true extension numbers are 190, 191, 192 and 193. The automated attendant is programmed to send callers who dial a single digit selection for the department they want to these extensions (190, 191, 192 and 193.)

The other phones are programmed with a Secondary Extension Intercom key (SIE Key.) This SIE key allows the other phones in that department to ring with the master phone. I then set up Call Arrival Keys (CAR Keys) for each master phone and programmed the CAR keys as 100, 109, 113 and 115. This way a caller can dial that extension number 100, 109, 113 or 115) and ring that phone direct without ringing the whole department. The problem is that there is no way to have these master phones receive a voice intercom call due to the fact of having SIE and CAR configuration.

I guess my question is, is there a better way to allow voice intercom to work and keep the described ringing configuration.

The way i see it You Need to change Your Car Key Numbers, If those Stations have VM Boxs, The Incomming caller can dial that station number. You need to seperate the Car from the Station Number, when you dial 100 inhouse (ICM) the system will ring your car key.
