I am working on a NEC Electra Elite 192. The voice mail is a stand alone DuVoice. THe DuVoice integration is set to NEC. I have two extensions that the MSG lamp will not turn off when they delete a message. I think the mailbox got deleted before they deleted any of the existing messages so the DuVoice never sent the mode code to turn the lamp off at the extension. I have cleared the mailbox of all messages and deleted & rebuilt the mailbox, called the ext. left a message and went back in and deleted the message. The MSG lamp still stayed on. Is there a feature access code to turn the lamp off at an extension? I am going to go back out and try "Cancel call back Msg by system" Feature 88. There is no ext number in the display indicating that another extension called and left a msg though.

I don't have the manual in front of me, but you should be able to assign Feature Access Codes to clear the message lights.

On IPS, it's CMD 200, and the second data is A041 / A042, but that won't help you on IPK.

As doghart posted, you can find the set cancel FA code in 1-1-47 then use your buttset on any analog port to turn the msg led off.

I'm having a very similar problem, only I don't have a buttset to make set any changes, and I'm afraid I can't parse the "1-1-47".

This started with me searching the phone itself (DTH-16D) and I'm now pretty sure that our system is an Electra Elite IPKII, based on the codes that I've been able to piece together that do work.

I'm on Port 4 at my extension, but I have access to the main phone on Port 1 if that would help.

Try leaving yourself a message and then listening to it/clearing it. That often clears a hung message light.

Also, check to see if there's a line key or a soft-key on your phone marked "msg" or "MESS" -- if so, press that key and it may call another phone in the office. Hang up and the light should clear (there was an old pre-voicemail feature that allowed you to have people call you back when they returned).

1-1-47 is a programming memory block, and if you don't have access to programming, then you don't need to try to use that. Calling a technician would be a better choice.

To confirm that you have an IPK II, you can search in the closets and electrical rooms until you see a box on the wall -- probably Navy blue -- that is marked NEC, and then read the label.

Easy way for the end user to determine if the system is a IPK II is by looking at the display, if there are 3 lines used its the IPK II, 2 line display its the IPK or older model 192.

If it the IPK II
Cancel message light at the phone with the blinking light, intercom, dial 773

Thank you for the help so far. I was able to get access into the room with the NEC box, and I've confirmed with have the Electria Elite IPK (not IPK II, despite a number of the codes working).

My the DTH-16D has a "Speaker" button, but not an "Intercom" button. They don't seem to be interchangeable, as hitting Speaker 77 sends me to a display that reads LNR[*] /SPD[__] and it plays a tone at me. I never have a chance to enter the remaining 3.

Leaving the message for myself, both from other lines and within my line itself, and then deleting it doesn't reset the light, unfortunately. It removes the message that I just created, but still seems to think there is one that's hidden to the system.

With these new developments in mind, are there any other steps I can try?

Thank you.
