Thanks for the tips. I've been poring over my 2400 manuals and I think I've confirmed my suspicions. The A-125 section of the Feature Programming manual describes Analog Caller ID. Section 10b states:
"The calling number and name may be exchanged by pressing the feature key, according to the following conditions:
- When my line is prime line, displays may be exchanged during termination or conversation.
- When my line is not the prime line, displays may be exchanged only during conversation."
Now, this isn't *exactly* the situation I'm encountering (Not using the Feature key to turn CID on/off) but it does seem to agree with the behavior we're experiencing -- CID info appears on "termination" (ringing) only for the prime line.
As for the AKYD programming, I checked the various FKY choices and other options but didn't see anything that would control whether or not a sub line displayed CID info. There was a FKY option (113 I think) to make the Feature Key turn CID on/off altogether, but I couldn't get it working when I tested it, and that isn't ideal anyway.
When I explained to the user that this may simply not work as she's imagining, she tried to demonstrate that it does work for other users by calling them directly. Since she dialed their primary MY Line, obviously the CID info appeared on their Dterms. She was confused about the difference between primary extensions and secondary appearances. She still thinks she used to get CID info on *her* secondary lines, but has accepted that maybe she was simply confused -- hard to convey that tactfully
I will gladly try any other tips you guys come up with, thanks!
