Do inmail ports take away from the 64 (or more depending on licensing) ports? For example I have an 8 port Inmail license. Does that leave me with 56 ports or do the inmail ports not count against the 64?

According to this document below "InMail ports DO NOT count toward your total port count. They do however limit the maximum number of extensions by 16." (R4.00 and up) https://www.8100stuff.com/wordpress/In-Mail/InMail_Basic_Prog.pdf

You need to read the document carefully It limits your stations to 48 unless you have Memory Expansion and then you can assign the In Mail beyond port 64
Other Install Notes • InMail ports DO NOT count toward your total port count. They do however limit the maximum number of extensions by 16. E.g. If you install the InMail into a 64 port system it will take 16 ports (49~64) from 11-02. This limits the system to a maximum of 48 stations. However along with the 48 stations you can add up to 16 trunks (to equal the total port count of 64) + up to 16 ports of InMail.
