What does this card do SLI(4)-U10 ETU LOT-124C? My builing was hit by lightning and the phone system won't power up unless i remove that card. The phones work fine now without the card installed, do I need it? Where can I buy one?

SLI= Single Line Interface. (4) Ports. Its used for Fax, or Modem's Cordless Phones. If everything else is working, what your smelling is more than likely that card.

One of the 4 black computer chips is burnt up. I'm assuming those chips represent the 4 analog lines? I'm going remove the burnt chip and see if the card functions. If i did buy a new card is it plug and play or does it need to be programed?

As long as you didn't lose any programing, you can just buy another card and plug it in the same slot.I wouldn't try removing the chip's and plugging it back into the KSU, you might blow the slot or worse.
