I need to get a new buttset and have been looking at the Fluke TS52. I was wondering how well they stand up to abruse. Are there better choices for a buttset?

I've had my eye on that model. Being able to capture Caller ID is a real plus.....but when an LCD meets a hard floor..... frown

Mine is a TS22. Does what I need including Speakerphone, great when Bell puts me on hold, or when running the BIX strip for DT or signal.

While CLID would be nice, how often do you really need it?

I'm using the TS30 I got at the meet in Vegas a few years ago. It works great for what I need.

I carry a CLID stand-alone desk unit e/w alligator clips. $10 at Radio Shaft, when occasionally on sale.

I use it like this: Clip onto the suspect line with the butt set, dial another known line, and with the CLID unit clipped on, read the display.

You can't do that with one butt set that has the display built-in.

I heve used that same method with the same equipment myself. The only time I use it now is when I don't have cell coverage.

Use my TS-22 to call my Cell Phone.

just one ??

My primary set is a TS19 , its compact , light weight has a modular cord set so I can connect directly to a line cord . I've had it about three years or so and it takes care of most of my needs

I have a TS25D that I break out when I need more functionality , speakerphone , digit grabber , CLID . I like the meter function that gives me loop current and line voltage. It came with a headset but I only used that a few times

when calling the telco , tech support etc etc I prefer my cell and blue tooth rather than being tethered to the butt-set cord set

I also carry a TS21

I know this is over a month old, but I had to comment. I purchased a TS52 right before Christmas. Its going back to Amazon as we speak. It is very large and bulky, which I could have probably dealt with, but the design of the Montior/Talk switch is the worst I have ever seen, and to say it functions poorly is to give it too much credit. Needless to say I was very disappointed. I expected a lot more from Fluke!

Just a follow up note. I have to give kudos to Amazon. The return was very hassle free. I didn't have any issues with returning the Fluke. Hopefully fluke will come out with a better butt set.
