I have one NEC dterm80 8-line phone on Elite IPK box system that it is not accepting the programming for headset. Instructions are followed: Press Speaker + 751 + Blank Key you want to program + 05 + Speaker. There are a few spare buttons, and it accepts other codes but not this one. Other phones are using the headset without a problem, and phones and headsets are the same. Please help.

Press the help key, push the key you are wanting as the headset, see what comes up in the display. There are keys users cannot re-program such as trunk, CAP or CAR keys.

I get "Not Define". The line is programmable because it will accept codes 1-4 which are not headset codes. Is there another headset code? Is it a programming issue for the line or phone system?

You have to enter 05, 5 will not work.

If you are entering 05, try 00 to clear memory from this key and re-enter 05

Sorry...I abbreviated the code. I have tried 05 and I've tried 00 followed by 05, yet nothing.

1. Speaker + 751 + Blank Key you want to program + 05 + Speaker
2.Speaker + 751 + Blank Key you want to program + 00 + Speaker + Speaker + 751 + Blank Key you want to program + 05 + Speaker
3. Speaker + 751 + Blank Key you want to program + 00 + 05 + Speaker

Nothing has worked. Very Baffled.

If you haven't tried, reboot the phone by disconnecting the line cord.

If that doesn't work re-boot the phone system.

If that doesn't work do the following

Feature 3 will give the software version, tell us what it is.

I'll give the phone system re-boot a try, later today when no one is on it. Software version is 1.52, if that helps.

Re-booted phone and it didn't work. Re-booted phone system, and it didn't work. Software version is 1.52.

Any suggestions? Still Baffled.

Isn't speaker + 751 the program code for IPK2 not IPK1?? Your talking about an Elite IPK which to me is an IPK1??

Paul is right, If you can press Feature 3 and get the Software Version, then it's an IPK 1. Feat. 3 won't work on an IPK 2.

Hmmm... I was told it was an IPK2. Some of our phones accept the speaker + 751, and some do not, and that's identical phones (in appearance). We do have several different types of phones on the same system. What is the IPK 1 method of connecting a headset? I'll be glad to give that a try.

Feature 3 does work on the IPK II,

Speaker 751 may not be working on some phones because they might be going straight to outside dial tone when going off hook instead of intercom dial tone.

I suppose I have the same problem. I have a Dterm 80 that i'd like to program for headset.a IPK feature 3 button returns SP1014 R4.10 Keysys R4 48P.

Do any of you kind people know how to program any button on this phone so the headset will work? I'm no expert but I follow directions well.

I thank you in advance for any help you can offer. I downloaded a 900-odd page manual PDF which might as well be greek.

Same exact issue as ConStatGuy from 2012. Can anyone help program the Dterm 80.Speaker 751 doesn't work because goes directly to outside line and dial tone.

751 will not work on an IPK. That is for the IPK-II system. You need to get a programming manual on the electra elite or electra elite IPK system. Programming is very different between the two systems.
