Thanks in advance for any help. I have a NEC Electra Elite IPK II. I'm not a phone tech but I've inherited the maintenance duties for our system. Sorry if I don't use the correct terminology.

Here's my problem. Some (most) of our extensions go to intercom when dialed. But there are some extensions that ring when dialed from inside the office. I've had several users inquire how to make there stations "ring only" for privacy reasons.

It sound's pretty simple but I can't seem to figure it out. I tried the DND settings but that ended up just sending calls to VM.

Any guidance would be appreciated. I have web pro and pc pro and all the appropriate access, I just need to figure out where that setting is.

At the phone press the speaker key for intercom dial tone, dial 721, this will force the phone to ring, 723 will change it back to hands free answer back.

Note: if you call a extension and it rings you can press 1 and it will go to speaker, or if you dial the extension and it goes to the speaker dial 1 to force the phone to ring.

dans,

You are awesome. That worked like a champ!

Although on my system it was backwards - 723 for ring and 721 for intercom.

Thank you!

I installed an ipk2 backin 07, haven't touched one since. Yesterday i was at a custmers site adding some phones(lucky jacks were hot) one phone in service was handsfree and all the rest would ring on int. I looked in my manuals and online with no luck. I should have checked here first. Thanks!
