I recently picked up a DSX 80 with 3 22btn phones and when I connected the system, I had no display on the phones. The lines work fine. I can call out and ring in. The voicemail works fine. In fact all the features seem to work. however I have no display. I initialized the system, same thing. I reloaded the software, same thing. I tried all the stations (16) and no display. Does anyone have an idea about what could be the problem. Thanks

Maybe you have some of the phones that have bad displays? NEC could verify this with the serial #... I had the exact problem with a system I bought back from a client. They worked fine when I pulled them out. Then a few months later I pulled them out and plugged them in and "NO DISPLAY".... Meanwhile if you have a known good phone ,try it and see. JR

You did try increasing the display? Normally the LCD is not lost totally, it will just have a series of bad pixels on the display. Never have witnessed one total blank.

Adjust the contrast first, its hard to see if display is adjusted down, you need to get to menu -display- contrast and bring it up with volumne button
I just had the same thing ,customer screwed with them

You can also adjust the contrast of the display simply by pressing the vol. up/down keys while the phone is in an idle state.
I would try that and if that doesn't work, I would try a phone w/ a known functioning display on this DSX-80 as has been suggested.
