Im trying to upgrade the cpu software on a SV8100 from 6.0 to the new 7.0 using a usb drive and cannot seem to get it done. I followed directions but it never gets to the point where led's 2,3,4 flash and 5 steady.

Try a different brand of USB drive, there were some that were not compatible with the SV8100. NTAC had a list on the website.

I've had trouble with USB drives over 2GB in the past. Maybe the size is simply too large. Give that a shot.

I've used 1GB, 2GB and even 32GB. Some work, some do not. It's something to do with the drive itself.

Doghart is correct, the size does not matter, it is the drive itself. Some will work and others will not.

OK I've tried 2 different brands and 2 different sizes but no luck. The series and sequence of LEDs is different with each one but still not what it should be. Do you think I should try some other drives?

It's probably not going to work until you find one that it "likes".

if you have a ME50 in the system and it is release 6.0 you should be able to upgrade without a USB stick.

OK after the fourth USB drive I found one that works...it's a PNY Attaché 4GB. Thanks for the suggestions.
