This was something I copied from a post here about a year or two ago regarding USB sticks..
"Suggested USB drives for updates
It has been identified that a number of SV8100 CPU’s, manufactured prior to May of 2008, will not allow the upgrade operation from certain USB drives. NEC has tested several different USB drives and recommends the following models: Lexar Firefly 1GB Lexar Firefly 2GB Sony Micro Vault – Click 1GB Sony Micro Vault 4GB PNY Attache 512k PNY Attache 2GB SanDisk Cruzer Micro 1GB Note: Any drive that has U3 technology installed cannot perform an upgrade."

Just a word to the wise I would stay away from any new software that ends in .00. Every release they have put out on the SV8100 has had major issues with the first release. I wait until it is at least .02 or higher. Unless you are having some major issues I would not fix what is not broke.
