I have a plant that sent me drawings today (floor plans) so that I can use them for some wire runs I will be doing. The problem is they sent them to me in a zipped autocad file and I don't have cad to open them. Does anyone know of a way to convert these files so that I can print out the plans on a 8 1/2" by 11 or 14" sheet. I don't need them to scale, just using the drawings for wire layouts and jack locations.

There are a number of free viewers and converters on the web that will do what you need, depending on the particular file format (DWF, DWG, etc). A google search for "viewing converting AutoCAD files" will return a number of links to free software.
You may already have a program on your PC that can handle the format, as well. I know Paint Shop Pro will import a few of the AutoCAD formats, and I'm sure other image manipulation software will too.

Just a thought, you could ask your client to send the drawings in PDF format. If it doesn't work out, email them to me, i will convert them for you in PDF.
