I have looked at a number of tablets and am leaning to the Acer Iconia Tab w500 with the removable keyboard. It has an AMD c-50 dual core processor as opposed to the Atom processor. I can load Android software on a flash drive and have the tablet boot from that if I wish and then I have the best of both worlds.

Any one else using a tab?

I've been using ThinkPads for years now, and have been very happy with them. None of them is a "slate" tablet, though. No removable keyboards on these babies.

Honestly, it all depends on what you're going to use it for...

Panasonic makes some *really* cool slate tablets but the prices are atrocious as for everything else PC-related that comes from them...

No experience with Acer whatsoever and would love to hear an update if you end up buying it and using it for some time...

I have a Samsung tablet with Android software. It is cool. Just depends on what you want to do with it...

It just depends on what you want. I have an iPad that works great for what I need. Its not a replacement for my laptop, but rather an add on.

Well I bought an Asus Transformer with docking station. I love it. Now I am still looking for a Windows 7 tablet. I am still leaning towards the Acer Iconia w500. Any one using a Win Pad yet?

I ordered the W500 from Amazon.com. They are the actual seller. I will let you know how it goes even if you don't want to know.

I like it...really nice tablet. The touch screen takes a bit of getting used to compared to a Droid tablet. Double "clicking". It has pen capability and a lot of other features. Not bad at all. It looks good in its leather case.
