Hi all,
We bought an older WIN phone system. Picked up a DOS based voicemail computer. It has been so long since the DOS days :-( I can't seem to get to the configuration software to set it up. It is running Klinic and Aforms and has on the D:\ drive 'spcheng" and 'mesg' directories. Our other WIN phone V/M interface comes up with "verbatim". The machine is a WIN IVP. Can anybody help me with this?
Thanks,
Jon

Well, it sounds like you other vmail machine is a keyvoice product. Keyvoice produce the verbatim voicemail and now is part of Comdial.
I know they did OEM their voicemail to other companies if they bought a gross of them. They would put the LOGO that the company wanted on the banner screen.
If you hit ALT and F4 it should show you some infomation towards the bottom of the screen. Look to see which version of software it is and see if there is a dongle or software key plugged into the Parallel port on the back.
I might be able to help!!

I am sorry I wasn't too clear. Yes - Our other *working* machine is verbatim voicemail. The one I am trying to get an interface to come up on is a WIN IVP. It is DOS based.
I found a "teleco Inc" sticker on the bottom of the WIN IVP machine. I am totally lost. One of the programs running in active memory is 'Receptionist' if that helps????
What I don't want to do is call the WIN dealer here in town - they charge an arm and a leg just to come out and then tell you they are clueless and still charge us for 5 or so hours!

The term "Receptionist" was used by Cobotyx as their name for their autoattendant. You might check out their website--probably cobotyx.com. Back in the late 80's & early 90's, they were a major player in voice mails & auto-attendants. Good luck.

Thanks, that was worth checking out. I got a reply back from a support email. They said receptionist was an embedded application that didn't run on DOS. So no luck there. Any other suggestions? I really don't want to call the company rep!!

OK--when in doubt--let's try the obvious. ![[Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]](https://www.sundance-communications.com/forum/tongue.gif) Teleco, Inc has supplied voice mails for WIN phone systems--they're out of South Carolina. I really didn't see anything about WIN systems on their website---maybe they have stopped supplying for WIN at the present time. Try www.teleco.com. Their voice mail is called "Perfect Voice". They have several DOS-based VMs. [This message has been edited by JWRacedog (edited October 20, 2004).]

I emailed Teleco. They are in a 'good ol boy' partnership with Win. They refered me back to Win with: "All support for WIN products have to go through WIN and their dealers. Other factors prohibit us from supporting directly but the main reason is the WIN dealer is the authorized dealer for your area."
Win refers me to the local dealer of win products with whom I am trying to avoid. I guess I am screwed.

Hey! Things are getting better.
Screens brought up a login screen. The first question is "Level _" Which I understand to be 1-3 and then "Password________" of which I have no clue. If you know the default PW for the levels please email me!
