I have a POTS dedicated fax line with adsl riding on it.
we put the dsl on it over a year ago and there hasn't been any problems.
Now for about the last week when their on the puter and a fax comes in the fax is unable to read it and spits out an error message.
Works fine when their not on line.
I checked the filter and it's still in place.
Could this be something in the fax.
Thanks, Gem

If changing the filter at the customer premises doesn't work, have your telco check the card in the CO. I had this be a problem in one installation.

the problem is with telephone company. the digital signal is getting interference. a new number may have been installed on the same copper count. tell the phone company that you are having this proble and to test the circuit and explain the problem. they will move your pair. put a adsl test on the line and you will see bit errors. good luck.
good luck.

Changed the filter today and also checked it at the d-marc with a filter. Big time noise on the line, may not be the dsl, turned it in to SBC,
we'll see what happens.
Thanks guys!
