Am currently trying to have local VM (7271C) automatically forward msgs offsite to the voice mailbox of a cell phone. The extension owner wants the process go directly to playback and skip the three "Press 1 to hear you messages" prompts that play with each forward.

Background: currently working with another tech to come up with a solution. He had never used the forwarding in this way. I pointed out that adding the ,M on the end of the message delivery number will automatically play msgs to the cell's VM *AFTER* no DTMF has been received. It works, but of course that's not good enough. [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]

Tried using the hookflash to emulate the sequence to listen to messages internally, but we just can't seem to get it right.

Thanks in advance for any help.

not sure what your asking.

You want the keyvoice vmail to call a cell phone and leave a copy of the message on that cell phone?

Or you just want to call in on the cell phone to the keyvoice vmail and it start to play the message right away, with out logging into the box?

or you want the keyvoice vmail to call a cell phone and when he answers it starts to play the message with out him dialing 1 to receive the message and then putting in the password?

The short answer to your query: 1 and 3.

The sequence would work like this:

1. Local office transfers a call into A's Keyvoice voicemail.

2. Keyvoice stores that message on the Keyvoice system.

3. Keyvoice calls A's cell phone off site.

4. The message gets to A's cell phone either one of two ways:

a) - A sees the caller ID coming from the office, picks up on the first or second ring, and immediately hears Keyvoice play the message(s) back. (With NO "Press 1 to hear your messages prompt" and no password), or

b) - A doesn't get the phone in time, so the Keyvoice system immediately plays the message(s) back into the cell phone's voicemail, WITHOUT the "Press 1..." or "Please enter your password" prompts. This way, when A is ready, A can check the cell phone voicemail and hear the message(s) from the Keyvoice system without having to dial into the office.

5. After A hangs up, the message is still saved on local Keyvoice system.

Thanks for your reply.

Put a "M" at the end of you dialing string and increase the message repeat in the vm.cfg.

The message repeat--is that the "repeatmw=" parameter #9144 you're talking about (via phone setup)?

It's "notify reps" in the vm.cfg and don't think it can be changed by teleparameters. I said increase originally but have looked that the default, that is set to "6", you might want to lower this. It sets how many times it plays the "Message for..." message. With the M in the string it plays the "press one" for the notify reps then plays the Voicemail message without requiring the password.

Thanks Bigkayeh. if you saw my original post I tried the ",M" at the end of the delivery field, but it still wasn't producing the desired effect. Checking the manual the "notifyreps=" param can be changed from the teleparameters menu: 9017. I'll give that a shot and see if that works.

As Rocky would say, "Holy Smokes!" It worked wonderfully! Thanks for your help. [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]

EDIT - In case anyone's interested, the parameter value was changed from "5" to "1".
